Hi, I am Freddy Furulund!

I joined the Norwegian Shipowner’s Mutual War Risks Insurance Association (DNK) in 2015 to develop a thorough loss prevention and loss mitigation capability. This later materialized as the DNK Intelligence & Operations Centre (IOC). I currently hold the position as Chief Intelligence & Crisis Response Officer (CICRO) in DNK.

This Website is my personal Website though. The purpose is to foster knowledge on how traditional Intelligence best can support the maritime trade in times of choppy waters security wise.

Before attending DNK, I served 30 years as an officer in the Norwegian Armed Forces. First 15 years mostly in command positions within the Norwegian Army from squad to battalion level, and the last 15 years in various positions within the Norwegian Intelligence Service on both tactical and strategic level. Joint level experience was achieved as an embedded planner in the U.S. Central Command in Tampa Florida as part of the Global War on Terrorism. My last position in the armed forces was Principal and Commandant of the Norwegian Intelligence University College.

During my time in the armed forces, I attended all qualifying schools at all levels and have served in operations abroad in numerous conflict areas.
